The upcoming KF 9 will be held during 10 – 11th November 2008 in Sousse, Tunisia, on the year of cultural exchange between Japan and Africa, and with the theme of sustainable management of resources. It also takes place about 5 months after the TICAD IV Summit, the fourth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development, which took place in Japan in May 2008.

KF 9 seeks to offer a key venue to foster dynamic exchange of ideas between leading scientists, policy makers and analysts, industry leaders and educators from both developing and developed countries and all fields covered by the symposium, toward prospecting opportunities to work together on projects of common interests and take advantage of a beneficial growth and shared development for all.

Particular emphasis will be placed on opportunities to address key global challenges to sustainability, including the sound use of energy and investigation of resources of renewable energy, the efficient use and preservation of water, soil and biological diversity, the prospection of innovative bioprospecting partnerships, the use of information and communication technologies to expand access to knowledge, the appropriate and sustainable management of innovation and technology, as well as the role of local development and heritage in overall growth of national economies.
